Creative Coding Takes Center Stage at Northeastern High School Camp

Sewer Waves, Bright Lights, and Dungeoneirs were just a few of the imaginative video games developed by a group of enthusiastic campers during the Girls Make Games summer camp held at Northeastern High School. Over the course of the camp, a dozen young girls delved into the world of coding, learning essential programming skills while collaborating on their unique game projects.

The camp aimed to empower young girls by fostering a passion for technology and game design. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, where they explored various aspects of game development, including storytelling, character design, and coding mechanics. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, campers were encouraged to express their creativity and problem-solving skills, resulting in a diverse array of games that showcased their talents.

The Girls Make Games camp not only provided valuable technical skills but also aimed to build confidence and inspire the next generation of female game developers. As the campers showcased their creations, it was clear that this experience would leave a lasting impact on their futures in the tech industry.
