Rockstar Games has officially adjusted the release window for Grand Theft Auto 6, moving the highly anticipated title from a spring 2025 launch to a fall release. The company confirmed that the game is now slated to arrive in November 2025, a delay of several months from the original plan.
The news came as part of a broader update from Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, during their latest earnings report. While no specific reason was given for the shift, industry analysts point to the massive scope of the project. GTA 6 is expected to be one of the most expensive and complex video games ever made, and additional time likely allows the developers to polish the open-world experience and online components.
This adjustment pushes the launch past the initial spring window that many fans had circled on their calendars. For context, the previous entry in the series, GTA 5, launched in September 2013, so a November release is actually closer to that game's original fall pattern. The delay also means the title will arrive during the lucrative holiday shopping season, a common strategy for major blockbuster releases.
Despite the wait, excitement remains high. The first trailer for GTA 6, released in late 2023, broke viewership records and confirmed the game will return to the neon-lit streets of Vice City. With a November target now in place, the countdown for what could be the biggest entertainment launch of the decade officially begins.
