Guitar Hero studio RedOctane returns with spiritual successor Stage Tour
February 27, 2026 - 23:55
The legendary studio behind the iconic Guitar Hero franchise is making a striking comeback. RedOctane, recently reformed under new ownership, has announced its return with Stage Tour, heralded as a spiritual successor to the genre-defining series that once dominated living rooms worldwide.
The studio promises "a new era for music rhythm gaming" with this new title. While specific gameplay details and release platforms remain under wraps, the announcement has immediately ignited excitement within the gaming community. The original Guitar Hero games, renowned for their plastic instrument peripherals and setlists featuring major rock acts, created a cultural phenomenon in the mid-2000s before the genre saw a market decline.
RedOctane's revival and new project signal a bold attempt to recapture that magic and reintroduce rhythm games to a new generation of players. The development team includes veterans from the original series, aiming to blend nostalgic elements with modern innovations. The industry and fans alike are now watching closely, eager to see if Stage Tour can successfully hit the right notes and launch a fresh chapter for interactive music entertainment.
