Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered coming in 2027 from Saber Interactive

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered coming in 2027 from Saber Interactive

Saber Interactive has confirmed plans to release a remastered collection of the original Hitman trilogy in 2027. The package, which covers the early entries in the stealth series, will launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. However, a version for the Nintendo Switch is not currently in the works.

The remastered trilogy will bring back the first three games that established Agent 47 as a pop culture icon. These titles originally debuted between 2000 and 2004, offering a more methodical and sometimes punishing take on assassination compared to the recent World of Assassination trilogy. Saber Interactive, known for its work on the Halo: Master Chief Collection and the recent Tomb Raider remasters, is handling the project.

Fans of the series have long requested a modern port of these older games, which have been difficult to play on current hardware without emulation or backward compatibility. The remaster is expected to include updated visuals, improved controls, and support for higher resolutions and frame rates. Specific details about gameplay changes or bonus content have not been announced yet.

The decision to skip the Nintendo Switch likely stems from hardware limitations. The original Hitman games were built on an older engine that does not scale down easily to portable hardware without significant rework. Saber has not ruled out a future release on other platforms, but for now, the focus remains on the three major console families and PC.

With a 2027 window, the remastered trilogy has plenty of time to polish its presentation. More information is expected at major gaming events later this year.
