Jason Mewes on His New YouTube Series, Playing a Stoner While Sober, and the Latest Jay and Silent Bob Video Game [Exclusive]

Jason Mewes is back in the spotlight, but this time he is doing it on his own terms. The actor, best known for playing the lovable stoner Jay opposite Kevin Smith's Silent Bob, recently sat down for an exclusive interview to discuss his brand new YouTube series. The project, which he describes as a mix of comedy and real talk, lets him step away from the View Askewniverse while still leaning into the persona fans love.

One of the biggest challenges Mewes addressed is playing a character famous for being high while he himself has been sober for years. He admitted it takes a different kind of focus now. "I used to just show up and be myself," he said. "Now I have to actually act like that guy. It is weird but also kind of freeing." He credits his long-term sobriety for giving him a clearer head and a better work ethic, even if the role requires him to fake the haze.

The conversation also turned to the latest Jay and Silent Bob video game. Mewes confirmed he has been recording voice work and motion capture for the project, which he says is bigger and sillier than anything they have done before. He joked that the game lets him do things in a digital world that he would never attempt in real life.

When asked about persistent celebrity rumors and gossip, Mewes laughed it off. He said he has heard it all over the years, from fake feuds to wild stories about his personal life. His advice? "People are going to talk. I just focus on my family and the work." He also revealed that he still dreams of opening his own convenience store one day, inspired by the iconic Quick Stop from the films. "I want a place where people can hang out, grab a soda, and just chill. No drama."
