The Switch 2 lineup at Summer Game Fest this year was surprisingly deep, offering a mix of long-awaited sequels, bold remakes, and unexpected revivals. After spending hours with the demo floor, a handful of titles stood out as must-watch releases for the coming months.
The biggest surprise was "Rayman Legends Retold." It is not a simple remaster. The team rebuilt the entire game in a new engine, adding dynamic lighting and smoother animations that make the hand-drawn art style pop like never before. More importantly, they introduced a handful of new levels that fit seamlessly with the original run-and-jump chaos. It feels fresh without losing the charm that made the 2013 classic so beloved.
On the heavier side, "Turok: Origins" is aiming for a full comeback. The demo focused on fast-paced dinosaur hunting with modern shooter mechanics. The bow feels weighty, the shotgun packs a punch, and the level design encourages vertical exploration. It is a far cry from the clunky controls of the N64 days, but it keeps the same brutal, jungle atmosphere.
Other highlights included a polished new entry in the "No More Heroes" series that leans harder into open-world absurdity, and a surprisingly addictive co-op cooking game called "Kitchen Chaos" that uses the new Joy-Con features in clever ways. The Switch 2 hardware handled everything smoothly, with load times nearly nonexistent across all demos.
If you are planning your shopping list, these are the games that actually delivered on the hype.
