A new physical compilation for retro gaming fans has landed on store shelves, at least in pre-order form. The Toy Story: Retro Roundup collection brings together 11 classic titles from the franchise's video game history, plus the complete edition of Toy Story 3.
The bundle covers a wide range of platforms and eras, including the original Toy Story game from the 16-bit console days, Toy Story 2 on the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation, and the often-overlooked Toy Story Racer. Also included are handheld entries like Toy Story 2 for the Game Boy Color and the action-platformer Toy Story 3 on the Nintendo DS. The highlight for many will be the inclusion of the full Toy Story 3: The Video Game, which originally launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. That version is known for its open-world "Toy Box" mode, which lets players explore a sandbox environment as Woody or Buzz.
The collection is being released as a physical disc for modern consoles, a move that appeals to collectors who prefer a tangible copy over digital downloads. Pre-orders are now open across major retailers, with a release date expected later this year. The set does not include any online multiplayer or modern remastering, instead focusing on preserving the original gameplay and graphics as they were. For fans of Pixar's iconic characters, this is a chance to revisit a chunk of gaming history without digging out old cartridges.
