I crashed, burned, and loved every second of Star Wars: Galactic Racer. It is the closest I have felt to Burnout 3 in years, only now I am flying through the Outer Rim instead of tearing down city streets. The game throws you into the cockpit of a podracer and tells you to hold on tight. You do not just race. You wrestle with a machine that wants to kill you.
The controls feel raw and dangerous. Your podracer pulls left and right with a heavy, weighty drag. One wrong twitch and you slam into a canyon wall. The explosion is loud, the screen shakes, and your racer tumbles into pieces. But the game does not punish you with a long loading screen. It throws you back in, revving and ready, within seconds. That quick restart kept me hooked. I kept pushing harder, taking sharper turns, trying to shave off milliseconds.
The tracks are wild. You zoom through narrow rock formations, over lava pits, and under massive alien structures. The sense of speed is dizzying. Other racers bump and shove, and debris flies everywhere. It feels chaotic but fair. Every crash taught me something. I learned when to brake, when to boost, and when to just let go and trust the turn.
I did not expect to love it this much. It is loud, messy, and unforgiving. But that is exactly what makes it great. It brings back that old arcade racing thrill where you laugh at your own wrecks and immediately hit restart. If you miss Burnout or just want to fly fast through a galaxy far away, this is the ride.
